CITY OF ASBURY PARK VALET PARKING LICENSE APPLICATION

Any person, establishment, or entity conducting or engaging in any valet parking operation upon any portion of the public right-of-way must comply to the terms and conditions under the Valet Parking License established by Ordinance No. 2019-28 and detailed in Chapter 8 Section 37 of the City of Asbury Park Municipal Code.

Valet Parking Services shall be operated only by commercially licensed and insured vendors of parking services holding valid City of Asbury Park Valet Parking Licenses.

Applicants must provide the City Clerk with the following information:

1. Certification that the applicant has procured sufficient accessible off-street parking spaces.

2. A signed agreement stating the applicant and operator shall hold harmless, indemnify and defend the City of Asbury Park, its officers and employees, for any claims for damages to property or injury to person which may be occasioned by any activity carried on under the terms of the permit.

3. Proof of public liability and property damage insurance for a minimum of $2,000,000 to protect all from claims and damage to property or bodily injury, including death, which may arise from operations under the permit or in connection therewith.

FEES

Application Fee: $100

Annual License Fee: $300

Rental Fee to Utilize Municipal Spaces for Ramping Vehicles: $15 per space/per day, seven days per week for up to 12 hours per day. Fees assessed for 24 hour per day use shall be $30 per space/per day, seven days per week.

Please note: A $25 processing fee will be applied to all exceptions and lease cancellations not made within the prescribed period below.

Payment can be made by check or credit card at the Transportation Center Parking Office located at 801 Springwood Avenue Asbury Park, NJ once an application is approved.

VALET PARKING LICENSE RULES & REGULATIONS

• The permittee/operator shall maintain a key control booth at all valet parking locations until all cars have been claimed; or the permittee/operator shall have a 24-hour phone number for after-hours vehicle pick up information.

• All employees who operate motor vehicles shall have in their possession a valid State-issued driver's license in good standing and shall abide by all state New Jersey traffic regulations.

• All employees shall be in uniforms identifying their names and the name of the valet operator/company.

• It shall be unlawful for valet operators or employees to stop or direct traffic.

• At its sole discretion and judgment, the City of Asbury Park shall provide to the valet operator sufficient ramping space in a close proximity to or as close as possible to the establishment being serviced.

• Valet Operators shall supply sufficient resources to process the volume of vehicles generated without impeding the safe flow of traffic.

• Ramping from a moving lane of traffic is strictly prohibited.

• Vehicles shall not be stored in ramping areas. Ramping on public property shall not occur in any location other than the on-street/curbside spaces provided for ramping.

• Storage of vehicles shall only be in private off-street parking spaces or in leased municipal spaces as provided the by the City of Asbury Park.

• Ramping on public property shall not occur in any location other than the on-street/curbside spaces provided for ramping.

• Leased spaces shall not be blocked by any type of sign, structure, or other type of object. Leased spaces shall not be cordoned off by any type of signage, rope or barrier of any kind, except for signage approved by the City of Asbury
Park.

• Fees for leased parking spaces shall be paid bi-weekly, two weeks in advance, commencing on the date the locations are rented to the valet operator by the City of Asbury Park.

• All additions or changes to existing leased public on-street/curbside parking spaces for ramping shall be paid upon request. All valet space lease requests shall be required in writing to the City of Asbury Park a minimum of 24 hours in advance and received no later than 2:00 p.m. daily. Exceptions and lease cancellations not made within the prescribed period will be assessed a $25 processing fee.

By providing your e-signature below, you hereby agree to:

  1. Comply with all of section 8-37 “Valet Parking License” of the Municipal Code of the City of Asbury Park. The City of Asbury Park reserves the right to deny or suspend any license for noncompliance.
  2. Hold harmless, indemnify and defend the City of Asbury Park, its officers and employees, for any claims for damages to property or injury to persons which may be occasioned by any activity carried under the terms of this license.
